New York! New York!

DAY 1

We flew out of San Francisco on Sunday, September 23rd. We were so excited to start our vacation, we arrived at the airport about 4 hours early. I was so nervous. This was my first time flying!

We thought it was funny that beyond security there was no knives. We went to this restaurant and had breakfast and they gave us plastic butter knives. Yup! That's Scott trying to stab my husband with a butter knife!

The plane ride was pretty exciting. We got to New York and proceeded to wait for about an hour. The airport had screwed up the gates and there was about 10 planes in front of us. We were very impatient in getting off and starting our adventures in New York City. They finally let us off. We walked over to get our bags and you would not believe it, or maybe you would because that is just my luck, but both Scott and John got their luggage and Sarah and I were left with no bags and no hope. What we feared and joked about since planning our trip, it was finally happening. THEY LOST OUR BAGS. Of course thanks to Scott's brilliant idea to go to baggage claim at another gate prove to be the best idea ever. Fortunately for us the bags had arrived on a plane earlier than us. Finally in NY.

DAY 2First time on the subway!

The second day in New York we set off to The Statue of Liberty. It is absolutely amazing. I find it amazing when I think of what this statue means to so many people of different ethnics, races, and religions.

Me at Battery Park with the Statue of Liberty in the background.
John eating a New York hot dog!
When you go into the base of the Statue of Liberty there is a museum. The museum has facts about how they built it, old news papers, old letters and actual replicas of the face, the ear and the feet. At the entrance they have the original torch. Here is Scott, Sarah and John picking her nose. No disrespect intended just us having fun.

After the Statue of Liberty we rode the boat over to Ellis Island. By this time we were all very tired and hungry. After this we walked over Ground Zero but before that we stopped at a small pizza place and had one of the best slices of pizza that I've ever had.

We even folded our pizza in half like true New Yorkers!
